These terms apply whenever you tell us what number you wish you could look up, whether that's through the request box on our homepage or the suggestion field on a calculator page. They explain what happens to your suggestion and how naming works if we build it. Our general Terms of Use and Privacy Policy still apply to everything else on the site.
When you send us a suggestion, you're giving us the right to use it, without payment, to build a calculator, change one we already have, or decide not to build it at all. Once you send it, it's ours to build, change, or set aside; sending a suggestion doesn't create any obligation for us to build it, and it doesn't create any ownership claim for you over a calculator we do build.
We read every suggestion. The most-requested ones tend to ship first, but we don't promise a timeline, and we don't promise every suggestion becomes a calculator.
If you check the box asking us to put your name on a calculator we build from your suggestion, and we do build it, we may display the first name you gave us next to that calculator. First name only, never a surname, never your email address, and never anything else you typed into the form.
Naming stays our choice even when the box is checked. We may decide not to name a suggestion, and we may remove a name we already published at any time, for any reason, without notice.
If you don't check the box, we won't publish your name at all, and we'll still read and may still build your suggestion.
We store the suggestion text, the optional first name you give us to display, and the email address you give us to hear back from us first if we build it. This is governed by our Privacy Policy the same way our other email capture forms are. We don't rent or sell this information to a list of vendors.
Don't send us anything confidential or sensitive. A calculator suggestion should be a general question, not personal or financial account information, medical information, or anything else you wouldn't want on a public web form.
If you leave an email address with your suggestion, we use it only to tell you if we build it. Every email we send carries a working unsubscribe link, and you can also cancel or ask us to remove your name using the contact form at any time.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the suggestion box after an update means you accept the revised terms.
